Our original plan was to have a range of different sites throughout the region. The Boston Tce garden is looking pretty good, so it might be time to think about where will be next....

BTW,
Attached is the written proposal we sent to Victoria University to use the drama hall site.
Recent history:
Andrew, the sustainability officer at Vic organised a site visit which was attended by Ping, Charles and Wayne.
We had a good chat and we showed him our current garden.
He asked for a written proposal to be turned around in a couple of days, so we did that.
The university decided approval was a simple operational matter. Their facilities manager has now given provisional approval and we are awaiting a written agreement which sounds like a formality.
Okay, we have approval to use the university's drama hall site.
Here's the latest:
1 Andrew from Vic gave us the green light
2, He is going to draft a formal agreement by the end of next week
3. Ping asked about an external tap - he says that is an operational matter that can be sorted out later
4. Transfield is storing road works stuff on the site until late Sept but we can use any land they are not using.
5. The Uni's green room project will only take up the narrow end of the site.
6. Andrew is to organise a meeting for us with student environmental groups.
Woohoo!
PS So lets have a look around at the site at tomorrow's working bee.
Ping talked to the sustainability officer at Victoria University about whether we could plant fruit trees and a garden next to their hall on Aro St.
He was positive about this, thought it might be possible and is talking to the property manager at Vic to see if he is keen and find out what would be involved.
Apparently Gecko has a vege garden on campus so he thought there might be some synergy there.
Hopefully more soon...
I know that Ping is investigating a potential site, and I will continue my enquiries on the site behind Aro video. It would also be cool to find some spots to plant fruit and nut trees as this would be a great way to use some of our remaining funds.,..
