I’m not an entomologist. I don’t study insects professionally and to be completely honest until about five years ago the average flying bug would send me running and screaming in the opposite direction waving my arms around generally looking quite mad. That was until I started growing food organically. As I watched the bugs interact in my garden my fear of insects grew into a fascination and inevitably an admiration. The insects are the silent soldiers and workers of the garden. Defending plants from predators, pollinating our crops and recycling waste into nutrients. The more I learn about these facinating creatures the more I want to know. I encourage everyone to post any questions, comments, observations and anything else they can think of to do with insects and the role that they play in our gardens.
