I hope you are all keeping warm on these wintery days.  Although we are lucky in Tauranga with many warm days even in winter, speaking from one who used to live in Palmerston North!
 
I have been blissfully enjoying learning about more wild edible weeds (I really am wild about weeds!)  and in this email I focus on Yarrow a plant used since ancient times for healing and a great one to add to our green smoothies.
I've attached a pdf file on it so you can acquaint yourself with this lovely plant and read more about its wonderful qualities.
 
I have two more workshops coming up in June focusing on identifying wild edible plants commonly found in gardens, so please let your friends and family know.  I'll show you how to identify wild edibles and then transform them, leafy greens and ripe in season fruit into a luscious green smoothie which will greatly enhance your nutrition and antioxidant levels.

These workshops will be some of the last I can run from our beautiful Bellbird Rise property as it is for sale. I love to hear how those of you who are already using wild edibles and making smoothies are going and whether you've noticed any changes in your health or any stories about your journey.
I am also available to visit your garden to help identify the 'weeds' you have around you, or to run a workshop with a group of your friends or neighbours from your own home.
 
Lastly I want to tell you about two workshops being run by my good friend Jane Powell called  "Living Probiotics from your Pantry": Discover how to make wonderful probiotic beverages like Kombucha, and Water Kefir in your own kitchen and how to make delicious yoghurts for breakfast and lunchtime smoothies made with kefir.  Dates: Saturday 23rd June and Saturday 7th July at 190A Tara Road, Papamoa.
