  Hi there,

  have learnt that not everyone is receiving the ooooby gathering messages I've been sending via this website, for some reason...  so thought I'd better touch base and see if you are getting them, and if not - if you'd like to be in the loop just give me your email address and will fwd them that way ;)

  
  normally there are backyard gatherings the 2nd sat of each month between 10am-12noon, and a great way to share produce and swap seeds etc :)
  
  this month is sustainable backyards month, so we have extra events - we had a stall at the nashi harvest festival at the arty house in tepuna early march, which was fun :)  and a gathering at the mount community garden last wkend. 

  this weekend on sun 16th we'll have an ooooby share table as part of the stalls at they sydenham botanic reserve in otumoetai, 1-4pm.  (hopefully the weather will work out)  and sat the 22nd we'll have an ooooby share table at the envirofest family funday/workshop day at the historic village 10-3pm  ;)

  might try some sunday gatherings from april to see how that suits people and that gathering will probably be at Jane Powel's in Papamoa that month, she's the one who often runs the 'make your own probiotics' and cheesemaking workshops.

  Hi Ally :)

  Hope your year is going well, be great to see you if you want to come along to any of the gatherings anytime :) - when you're not busy with Lanterns etc! :)  they have just started gathering momentum recently and are going really well, everyone is really enjoying meeting like minds.  :)  

  They are generally the 2nd sat of each month, and the next one is this saturday in Pyes Pa, with details on the Tauranga Ooooby page.  :)

  Yeah thanks for the contact... but the guys is doing really well on his own and I think it what really keeps him fit and healthy, so do not want to get in the way of that now. Thanks for the offer though.

  Yes, I plant really close - stops the weeds. i have planted dwarf beans in between the lettuces so that as they mature there is another crop coming in. My husband complains I plant too much but I can always give them away! I just love the challenge of growing.

  Upside down? The theory is that the tomatoes are off the ground and will not get splashed up infections from the soil. They sure make a good talking point not to mention that the old clothes line is useful again!
