I'm trying to keep to a budget for me garden...which mean spend nothing if possible however so far I have purchased potting mix (as I can't produce enough from my two compost bins), seeds (hopefully will be able to now source from other oooobies by swapping) and plastic to make greenhouses.
Now that all the hard work has been done it only takes a few hours a week to keep to looking that way.
I have about 1/4 acre, most of it is lawn. Would love to have a bigger veggie garden however it would be too much to deal with at the moment I rotate my time. One weekend each to the veggie plot, side of the house, back section, front section and the lawn. It seems to work, as I'm not rushing around trying to get everything done at once, a few hours each weekend then I can enjoy the rest to the time watching everything grow. No point if you don't get to do that.
Hope that things go well with the tomatoes. I know how great it is to grow from seed.
Working for Unicef must be so rewarding. Grant and I sponsor 5 children with CCF. We do not buy gifts for family and friends instead we sponsor children for them instead. They (f&f) have everything already. Why give a pointless unused gift when you can save a life instead.
keep in touch would love to here about how your garden is going.
I have just finished potting up a few plants for my patio and now that my greenhouse is up an running everything is going really well. Have only one more project and that is to clear the back section so that I can make a cottage garden. Would be so nice to look out the kitchen window to that.
Have a great day.
What do you do for a living?
Would love to see some photos of your garden.
It doesn't matter how big the garden. It's the enjoyment that you get out of it. An the end produce of course, healthy veggies
How long have you been in the U.S.A??
