  • Hey Gabrielle, hope youve had a lovely summer so far. I went into the earth centre today and got some free seeds too. Bit of a random mix but itl be fun to see what pops up! How is your garden growing?? Mines going great, Im so addicted!! : )>
  • K Im on a mission to update this page as I have been busy planning more variety for this years summer garden - Ps: I pulled up my maori potatoes a couple weeks ago ... the variety that produces a delightful lucky dip of colours in hues of purple / crimson and golden ... they were AUSUM ! dont know whether the tyres actually helped ... going to try growing some potatoes in a mound in the garden bed this time round ?
  • Hi, I am new to blogs, wikis etc. so haven't figured out how to join the Gisborne group or maybe I have now? Anyway I regretfully mowed over my gourd vine so didn't get the chance to see them mature. I think if you left them in the hot water cupboard for a few months they should dry out -the slower the better. I also ruined my luffa I was growing- so will try again next summer. I have been to the library and stocked up on books and gardening magazines because the weather is well and truly shot this weekend!
  • Hi Lucy - I cant reply to your message because you havent excepted me as a friend. If your based in Gisborne apparently the weather is shot for this weekend. But dont worry I put some grass seed down last weekend - I have been locking my cats outdoors on gard dutie to keep the birds away.
  • Hi, I am looking forward to having some dry weather in the coming long weekend. I need to sow some grass but I think I may have left it too late in the season.
  • Hey Gabs - got any pumpkins going spare right now ? We could swap you some feijoas ? By the way - don't try freezing your pumpkins !
