Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We have been on our ten acre block with few trees for two years now. We have focused on building a green house and potager to keep the birds off the vegies. Thats all up and running meaning we buy few if any vegies. Currently growing Squash, atrichokes (globe & Jerusalem), potatoes, peas, beans, onions, herbs, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, plus.... Malcolm has completed a course in propagation through Agribusiness allowing us to grow plants, shrubs, fruit trees from seed, cuttings & division. Next step is to continue planting shelter and establish an orchard. Happy to help budding gardeners if we can - we are seeing a resurgence in gardening with many friends taking up the challenge We also have chooks, cats & dogs.

  • Hi Malcolm & Sue,

What a fab set up you have there for all your growing needs!  Love your potager! it's just what would be perfect for my gardens.....one day hehe.  In the mean time, I'll carry on, one step at a time.  Thanks for the comment on the "what to do today" group regarding the protection of berrys.  I made 2 wire netting frames for 2 of my blueberry plants last night but now wondering if this is the best way to go as it is so time consuming.  Will post some photos soon, then you will see my attempt.  cheers Jane.
