  Hi Mark - I use an old pair of rubber gloves. I know blokes don't like 'mariegolds' but when you're working with beetroots it's just the thing. Have you ever tried the white ones?

  Hi Mark. I've just joined as well. Picked my first beetroot today and I must say I have never ever had it any different than shopbought pickled stuff, so I boiled them today and did the taste test of fresh ones - wow!!!!! I will never ever eat the stuff from the shop ever again!!!! What a great taste!! I have red and white ones and must say, they white ones are my favourite (so sweet)
