Is anyone here interested in having a beautiful pasture pet? I've got a lovely gentle white Highland steer (raised organically/biodynamically) that needs more grazing before he heads to the works and we're out of grass. Anyone willing to graze him (in Rodney District) can be part owner and have a share of the meat. His mother is also for sale.

Matariki, and Biodynamics

The Maori new year is marked by the rise of Matariki, (a group of stars also known as the Pleiades)
and the sighting of the next new moon. Traditionally, The brighter the stars indicated the warmer the season would be and thus a better crop would be produced.
A Biodynamic gardener also recognizes that the movements of the moon and other planets have a profound influence on the soil, plant and animal life. An astronomical calendar is used to determine auspicious, planting, cultivating and harvesting times. Standard organic practices are applied, enhanced by Biodynamic herbal and mineral preparations.
To learn more about Biodynamic practices, come and attend the special week-end events with Peter Proctor and Rachel Pomeroy on 18-19 June
