GREENHOUSE & GARDEN FURNITURE

I know that a Greenhouse is in my future and that gives me a bit of a chance to think about what I want to salvage and recycle to go into my Greenhouse to make it comfortable for my plants and for myself. I do have limitations now and my body reminds me everyday around 5 o'clock with lower spine sciatic  shocks when I over do things. I need to be able to sit down when I'm working in one spot for long periods of time, especially when propagating. Space is limited (It's for plants) and I need to be able to wash and sterilize anything in the greenhouse.  Here's a few nifty ideas I've found.

I have several of these old milk container crates and it wouldn't take much to make legs to a  comfortable seating height of my greenhouse counters. Back support would be great but all cushions have to be removable for regular cleaning. If the crate is strong enough to hold my weight then I'll be able to turn it on it's side and utilize it for additional storage.

You can turn the crate and make a flip-top lid to sit on and utilize for storage. The addition of plumbing can give you a sturdy handle to move the crate while giving you a support to add a back support to lean on. Of course wheels make it easier to move about and easy to wheel away under a table when not in use.

If your husband or a friends is a welder, old shopping carts can be made into wonderful seating. Grocery stores sometime get-rid of carts that are no longer pleasant to the shoppers eye.Leave the handlebar on and add wheel lock-downs and the cart can be handy to move about your greenhouse for seating and return to it's old cart days by loading up with potted plants that are being moved in & out of the greenhouse until they are ready for your garden beds.

It might be time to visit the wrecking yard and you can take the husband and his truck along for this adventure!

Here's seating made from old truck springs.
