Let's share our discoveries.
I'm just loving 'The Great Vegetable Plot' by Sarah Raven published by BBC Books.
Although it is about Northern Hemisphere Gardening -it has still lots that's relevant to us.
It has gorgeous pictures of the authors garden. She teaches vege gardening, and cooking with the produce.
It has really informative sections on growing specific plants, complete with keys to success for each one.
the plants are organised in a novel way, the sections on what to grow are entitled:
'Let Taste Decide'
'The Unbuyables'
'My Desert Island Plants'
Then there are sections called: 'How to Grow It'
and 'What You need to Know'.
The last section has an A-Z of the vegetables.
Altogether a lovely book, with clear information.
I'm enjoying reading it and I'd love my own copy.

A wonderful inspiring book is Animal, vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver ( and family). I found it even more wonderful than her fiction :) http://www.animalvegetablemiracle.com/
in it she describes a year in her garden where they made it their aim to eat only local food for a whole year
her daughter wrote seasonal recipes and her husband put in little gems of fact about food production in the US.
Highly recommended!

Perhaps if we make a single posting per book it will make them easier to find.
