I planted some redcurrant and blackcurrant cuttings in June 08 and they took but they have never flowered or fruited. Does anybody know why this might be? Thanks

My thinking is, even though it was planted 08,it doesn't look well established enough to flower yet, the main stems still look quite young.
Have the currents grown lot more this season than last??
Also the leafs don't have the nice dark green that i would expect for currents doing well,do you have free draining ground in your area??

They have grown a lot more this season than last. That's interesting about the leaf colour - the soil is free draining but perhaps a bit too much so, and I really need a windbreak too because the wind howls through and dries everything up much faster as well. Perhaps they just haven't been getting enough moisture?

Thanks Richard. To view it larger, it's on my page as well under Photos.
