I planted aubergines quite close to tomatoes this year and now discover that they are not good companions. Should I take the aubergines up and replant? (They've been in the ground about two weeks.) I would hate for the tomatoes to suffer.
Thanks from Brooklyn,
Chris

In my experience aubergines, tomatoes and capsicums transplant very easily, so if you want to move them they should be fine.
They aren't listed as adversaries in the companion planting guides that I looked at , but guides do differ.
They are both members of the same family so may attract similar pests and diseases.
For this reason it may be better to plant them apart.
Happy gardening.
