Thanks for your reply, my next question is where do I get comfrey leaves from and when is the best time to plant potatoes?

Not sure about varieties of spuds to grow but a high potassium fertiliser is needed. The soil should be well cultivated with good drainage. If you're an organic gardener the comfrey plant is an excellent natural potassium rich fertiliser. Comfrey leaves break down very quickly in the soil and are extremely high in potassium. The N.P.K. is approximately 8 : 2.6 : 20.5
