Worm farm

Are there any clever ideas for separating the worms from the castes...without getting too mucky?

  • Ok, Rex, I'll get back later an tell you lots about Urine an all it's benefits. Busy at present - but talk later
    • ok
  • Try adding(your) urine in one end. The worms will run to it. Urine is completely safe and sterile -providing you don't have a urinary tract infection. Your own is always more agreeable than others. Urine has such a huge value in the garden - if your not turned off - ask me for more info.
    • Would be interested in hearing more about the use of urine or links to websites

If you have a tray system you could try moving castings and worms into a fresh tray, I've noticed that my worms hate being disturbed and will escape back to the lower layer. They wriggle back down and end up sitting on the tray and it's easy enough to rehouse them into a fresh tray of food below.
