bossy chicken

Can anyone help ?I had 3 chickens 1 was a roster so replaced it with 2 hens.1 of my original hens became the MATRON.Then to my horror just when the order was back 1 new hen died.So now the other new hen is getting told off all the time and is on the outer.Shall i introduce 1 or 2 more hens to balance it or will it settle/.Im like a mother hen haha

    Not much you can do about pecking orders, they seem to sort themselves out in the end, if they don't know each other from when they are chicks they seem to need to go through it. As long as they are not too cooped up and bored they usually find a way to coexist. It can be scary how heavy they get with each other, they really go at it and draw blood at times, dare I say it you might find a rooster would help sort things too.
