Yes Rebs is looking at sourcing organic potatoes, carrots and kumera from Chantals in Hawkes Bay to supply a range of organic veges both to Rebs Members and the public at the River Traders Market. At this stage it is a proposal and we have been looking at a couple of other options as well.
Does anyone have knowledge of local organic growers of potatoes , carrots etc? The reason I'm asking is that it appears that REBS is planning on sourcing them from Ceres, which I presume means that they will be grown in Hawkes Bay and transported here. Surely we can between us work to get local sourcing/supply? I hope so!Does anyone have knowledge of local organic growers of potatoes , carrots etc? Hi Oakdale Organics - I belong to Rebs (River Exchange & Barter System), we have a stall at the local River Traders Market and have been ordering Kings Seeds for any members who would like to order some seeds. Am interested in seeing what your seeds are like!
We are now selling BioGro certified seedlings in the Wanganui area. Would love to hear from customers about what they're growing - and how we can support the local community with sponsorship and gardening education. Go Organic!!!!

There is not much traffic on the group, but maybe that will increase as numbers grow.

Hullo locals. I have kombucha mother to share if anyone needs it. Pick up is from Otamatea (near St John's Hill).
