Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

I'm breaking in a patch which has been left for many years. Influences: Fukuoka, Bill Mollison, BioDynamics. Trying to combine elements of all these disciplines, though not very disciplined myself. Growing beans, peas, lettuce, rocket, spinach beet (some of it transplanted from Haumoana beach), borage, red clover, pumpkin, herbs, Jerusalem artichoke, elephant garlic, self sown spuds, and perennial favourites puha, dandelion, chickweed, etc. Sprouting some "Hopi" corn, tomatoes, more spinach beet, peppers, purple and gold kumara. Quite good to write it all down; I've got more going than I thought I had. I'm following Fukuoka's idea that a man working with hand-tools is the most energy efficient method for growing food.

    white carrot seed would be good, if you have heaps I would forward some to the southern seed exchange as I don't think they have any. you need to tell me how much you want to pay in postage so I know how much to send, if you accept my friend request we can swap details by PM.

    I definitely can't take any credit for the creation of Ooooby-that must go to Pete Russel and James Samuel of Waiheke, who dreamed it up and made it work. They continue to develop the concept. I'm just a keen Hawkes Bay member who really believes in the principles of a grassroots movement for food growers and those who want to live in a more sustainable way.
