I am going away for work for a few weeks so will follow up with the older people when I get back in early July and let you know. There is also an Abbeyfield (house for older people - google it for more info) in Sandringham that has a small garden and they may appreciate some help. If you contact them feel free to mention my name.
I'll email you on my return to see how you are going - you may well be inundated! Kind regards, Denise
I have a few tools.... This weekend however I am going away, what timing! I am going up to visit my parents in the far north, leaving friday returning Sunday. If you have any other quiet weekends do let me know! I'll give you my home phone in any case- 636 5729
What a generous offer! My small garden (if you can call it that!) is in dire need of a revamp! I have a dozen or so planter pots on my deck, with old vegies in them that need pulling out, and the soil is in very bad condition! I also have a small stretch (about 3 metres by 1 metre) of garden with old tomato plants and bean plants that need pulling out, the soil also needs some serious nourishment! And then I'd really love to plant some more vegies for the winter! I am wheelchair bound, so hence find doing it on my own very hard : ) Combined with the fact that I don't know too much about organic gardening. I live in Royal Oak.
I know of a lot of older people in Sandringham who have smaller gardens and trouble getting people to help (and also like to have a bit of a chat!).
You are also most welcome to help out in my urban jungle - I am a single working mother of 3 trying to make the land yield and I struggle to keep it under control! It has veges, fruit trees, ornamentals, chickens and a pool. Happy to share the yields in return (avocados nearly ready, bananas set and plenty of limes right now!). I am down by Eden park. let me know if you are interested in either/both.
Hope you have a lot of fun on Ooooby.I see you are in Auckland.Take a look at the groups and see if there is one near you.It is a neat way to meet local people who are Oooobying.
I like your qualifications.:}
