Apologies for the long delay in responding to your friend request! I don't routinely sign into oooby. Yes, I am always keen to converse with other foodies : )
a belated welcome to Ooooby. I've been thinking about buying and bartering local food - wider than garden produce, homemade preserves, fermented foods, bread and the like. Am currently trying to talk my partner into a couple of chooks for the backyard.
I had dinner with another 'ooooby-ite' who lives in Mt Albert recently (close to us in Sandringham). She sells sourdough starter if you are interested in that sort of thing.
Definitley interested in discussing ideas for setting up a little community of locavores to do some bartering and buying with, something that maybe uses ooooby as a starting point but evolves into more than garden produce. Let me know your thoughts.
Laura.
Are you a waterfall?
I am having a West Auckalnd Potluck on 22 Feb at my home in Glen Eden. I will post an invite.
Talking about the idea of having the Pt Chev Organic shp as a hub for cooking lessons, food production, movie nights, meet ups etc. Wadda think? I met with some Westies at Prana and we are meeting up at my house then. Let me know if you are interested. I would like to know more about you as you are my new friend!
Though I don't have a 'gardening' background, I'm a keen lover of nature and always ready to learn more about great food growing practices.
Working in publishing, I have done some research and written some articles on organics and gardening, but nothing major, and I still consider myself a beginner.
Look forward to learning from others in this community and making productive contributions.
Thanks!
Enjoy - ask away, if you have questions.
I have one: What article did you read and what did it say that attracted you to look up Ooooby?
