We've got heaps of land that we want to garden, but we're complete novices. The gardening thing is part of a huge lifestyle change for us at the moment, we ultiomately want to produce food to help our neighbours and people, aND CREATE COMMUNITY AND HOLISTIC wellbeing in our realm of influence - God bless

    Welcome Siaosi, good to see you are coming back to gardening with a strong community aspect in mind. Hope you will manage to rememder or regain the knowledge on how to care for those essential staple food like kumara, potatoes, etc... A lot of us in the city, would benefit from coming in contact with someone like you, who has grown up with successful large scale community planting.
    Regarding your garden in Auckland, I can show you how to build a hot compost pile, but then you may already now of a better weay to fertilize the land...
    I am learning more and more about biodynamic gardening which is working with the moon, constellations, and plant based preparations, but I am also interested in the old traditional ways, which incorporate many of the biodyamic features.

    Ive recently started preserving lemons from my Mum and Dad's tree. Theyve been pickling for almost 2 weeks, apparently they need 3-4 weeks, so I'll let you know how they go in time...
