  kia ora Sue, welcome to the Waitakere group. Like Daniel I have noticed many spaces that could do with a community garden or some productive trees. My area of interest is around Moire Park. I have already been involved with a clean up there earlier in the year. I'd love to see fruit/nut trees planted there.

  Hi sue welcome to waitakere's backyard group i hope you can come to our next meeting i live in massey and would love to be more proactive in the community and put my talents to good use would love to plant up a park with fruit trees or even verges on selected roads where the residents could reap the benefit of having fruit and nut trees to harvest right on their door step, some of the parks near us are very empty and could do with a make over and some serious thought and money spending on them to put them to a good use and a purpose it seems a lot of the time planners have to allocate a certain amount of land to parks per population head and they are left as empty boring bland spaces which are trashed and rarely used by the residents, i hope you can make it to our next meeting its at margareet de vries house on the sixth of August.
  i would love to hear more on your idea's and what you have in mind for a community focused event.
