Comment by Brett on May 23, 2011 at 1:18pm Hi,
This is my first time posting. We just bought a house in Torbay with heaps of beds and borders that we are looking forward to turning into productive, edible gardens. Our first purchase was one of Bruce's tumble composters. Right now everything is a bit overgrown as a result, a bit too shady. We will cut back a lot, but not sure what can stand it what can't. Plus, we have on a small section, 4 enormous deciduous trees dumping leaves now and making it hard for anything else to grow. So much to do, so much fun to be had! Anyone is Torbay know about this stuff and want to come by and give free advise?? We are not native to NZ so not really sure what we all is growing here.
Comment by Swainy on March 17, 2011 at 8:31am I have been thinking recently it would be really cool to have a demo garden in one of the local parks. Worked by volunteers with the objective of collecting and developing varieties that suit our unique climate and to introduce other to sustainable gardening.
