Good garden centres around Wellington area?

Hi All,

 

Classical newbies gardner inquiry: what are the good garden centres around Wellington and where are they?

 

I'm keen to shop local and stay out of the Mega Stores. We will be buying a goodly number of fruit trees (next season anyway), grasses and perennials and a couple of climbing roses.

 

I look forward to your collective wisdom..............!

    I always buy my fruit trees from Edible gardens. She has heritage trees and they are bare rooted which i think is the best way to go. Depending on where you live Grow from Here in upper Cuba is very local.

      I saw the Edible Gardens website - looked great but was a bit worried that it was a few years old in parts.

      Is it still active and ready to go?

      Yes! Apparently Sarah has just had her 4th child ... send her an email to check if what you're after is still available as I think her stock goes pretty quickly. She is highly recommended. You could also try The Fragrant Garden http://www.fragrantgarden.co.nz/
