  • I did all our gardens with it, but I found that their claims about how far the water travels from the hose is a bit adventurous. We halved the distances between hoses and it works better.

But its great for cutting down the amount of water you need to use and keeps it off the leaves in summer.
  • excellent advice, thanks everyone, I will do some more research and planning and hopefully begin an install this weekend
  • I'm using four of them with mains pressure on my raised beds – not from Hunkin. They're excellent. Mitre 10 have them, some by Netta I think and a cheaper brand.
    Main advantages:
    1. Less water waste. The water goes exactly where you want it.
    2. You're not spraying water all over the plants, which can cause problems if it's sunny or encourage mildew if you do it in the evening.
  • I've used a similar hose in the US and really liked it--great for vegetable gardening. I just turn it on for an hour or two, and it deliver the water directly to the plants' roots. It seems to save water and is easy to install.
