Does anyone in Auckland know of a good source of mulch for vege gardens - pea straw or lucerne hay etc. And would they be interested in banding together to get a bulk supply to share if available?

Hi Joseph, Unfortunately I never found a good bulk source to share, but have sourced some from 'ZooDoo' on Trademe. Still reasonably expensive at $7.50 for a smallish bag but they deliver for free.
Hi. Yes you can usually get lucerne at Falloons stockfeeds on the Kahikatea Flat rd, Dairy Flat/Silverdale. Just around the corner 100 m on right, (at the Caltex stn turn off to go to Kaukapakapa from main DF hwy). They usually have pea straw too but a few weeks ago they had run out of that. Sorry but I have all I need, I just give the rest to my horses. But I have a good supply of horse manure if you would like some. There may be a small fee involved in bagging it. I'd get the kids to do it. Happy hunting.
