  • not so bad here, you can de-weed by using good mulch when planting out your seedings, at the end of Summer you can sheet mulch when the beds slow down and this will set you up well for next year. Have got some seedlings coming on but not sure the time and effort invested was really good compared to paying less than $2 for a punnet of seedlings. The only advantage is getting different and weird stuff from Kings seeds and growing things that you cannot normally find. :)
  • I'm good ta, how are you?

Lol it is pretty hot! It's been lovely.
Spent Monday tidying up the backyard and setting up the new garden, plus planting all the new babies my mum brought.
I went flower mad myself and brought a bunch of flowers to plant in amongst the vegetables (to promote bees and such, plus for plant diversity and visual appeal).

Did you get much done over labor weekend?
  • Hi Rose,

How are you? Is your garden growing well? We planted 8 fruit trees a few weeks back and I am now busy fencing them so I can let the sheep and goat in to eat the very long grass in the paddock. I tried mowing it but it just gets away on me, It takes me 4 hours to mow the lawns as it is!
What have you planted so far?
  • Hi Rose,

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, I am new to this blog stuff and sitting in front of my PC is not how I chose to spend my time! how is your garden going?
  • Hi there - how is your garden going? Mine is a bit weedy at the moment but I'm picking broad beans, peas, lettuce radishes and cauli. Hopefully the weather will improve so I can get stuck in next week. :-)
  • Hello Imrose. Welcome. Great to have you with us. You have lots of friends already. I presume you are connected on other ning networks? You might like to join the Hamilton Group to stay in the local loop. Have fun oooobying!!
