Tell us about your garden and what you're growing

We have a large vegetable garden on clay loam soil so we add lots of compost. We are growing lots of garlic this year. We also have a good sized plum orchard and lots of other fruit trees, a house cow and chooks.

  • Sorry. Janine I can't remember if I thanked you for the parsnip seeds. I have been away on holiday and had this horrible thought that I hadn't been in touch. Got back in the dark so have no idea what state the garden is in.

  • Hi Janine!

Thanks so much for dropping off more corn plants, wool and dye. Sorry I missed you. I was driving back from dropping Cameron at school when I drove past you (waiting it the lights at Regent)

I cooked up several batches of wild ginger (from my neighbour) then killed my frypan *sniff*  but I'm now the proud owner of a woodburner? BBQ so can get cracking on cooking up the corn to make into paper.

I hope all is well with you.

    miss you,

    Julia

  • Hi Janine

We are thrilled to have eight chicks from the 12 eggs, one died, and three didn't hatch. One chick is white, two are very dark, and the rest various shades of brown. The very dark ones have slightly longer tails, so we think they may be roosters, do you have any thoughts on that? All are very vigorous and happy, and I have put a couple of pictures on my page.

It's all very exciting, thank you so much again.

    Janet
