Hey Matt, I could give you about 30 - 50 seeds, collected myself, not sure if they are the ones with yellow/orange centres or black centres, but have either bright yellow or orange petals. Cheers.

Does anyone in Wellington have access to a decent Mulcher/Chipper. We have just cleared a whole bunch of trees and wanting to get some mulch out of them. Happy to share mulch.

If you are over in the Wairarapa we have a limited supply of Worm Compost and Lemons...all fresh, all organic! Get your Worm Compost (aka worm castings) now and give your veges the best start when spring arrives.

Can anyone give me a tip about a good place to get a decent amount of seed potatoes? We are wanting to plant them for our food bank so want a whole lot for not a whole lot of money!  Thanks.

Innermost Gardens is hosting a local food workshop this weekend.

check out our website for more information

In this workshop, Robina will use community facilitation methods to the goal of community scale food interdependence, based on successful models of localised food production in Aotearoa/NZ and in other parts of the world.

If you are keen to come then send us an email to RSVP

Have you heard of the Wellington Growers and Consumers Co-op? It is a CSA (community supported agriculture). The next term for 13 wks is about to start (14th May) and you can get organic, local, seasonal produce  - it is awesome value!  Check out more on their webpage for more details.

Price each

Price per

Standard vegie bag (replacement for small bag)

2 vegie bags (replacement for large bag)

½ dozen eggs

Fruit bag

Apple juice, 1 litre

Apple juice, 2 litre

Firewood, 1 m3 (trailer load) pine

As this is a co-operative it is a bit different to your usual box scheme. This is the most direct connection between grower and consumer. There are NO wholesalers, NO retailers, NO packaging, NO warehousing, or any of the other costs associated with the distribution of food through normal channels. The consumer end of the co-operative’s distribution system is carried out by members as part of their commitment to the co-operative. The grower receives all the money that the consumers pay for their produce – meaning a happy farmer! Happy consumers too – not only do they receive the freshest, most delicious, most nutritious vegetables; they pay a fair price, and they know that their food supply is secure because their farmer is secure.

Pretty awesome... so sign-up and please spread the word to Wellington. Join the facebook page here too.

Hey Wellington,

How many of you would be interested in contributing and/or purchasing from a local Ooooby stall?

What kinds of things would you have to offer and what kinds of things would you be interested in buying?
