  • Hmm, yep we are going through this at the moment - a very healthy, reasonably organic, wholefood and no sugar diet. And what do you know a cavity at 2 years old.

Going for bone broths, fermented cod liver oil (higher vit A and D levels than deoderised cold liver oils, which have vits stripped out in the deoderising and then synthetic ones added back in). Also got some teeth and bone tissue salts to help mineral uptake, fermenting and soaking all grains we can to breakdown the phytate, sour dough breads etc.

Our dentist has agreed to monitor progress...lets hope the theory pans out. I am sure it will work for future prevention, but can her tooth heal at this stage when food is getting stuck in the cavity? Thats the Q.

    • OK, so if anyone interested in an update. After 6 weeks of the above the dentist visit today showed that there is no longer any decay in the cavity. There are signs it is on the mend, but no dentine replacement. Yet.

    • Laine if she does have cavities maybe have a look at some tooth mousse or a toothpaste with Xylitol in it, I no in Australia you can get a product called snappy jaws, I'm sure it would be in NZ too. I've heard of great success with that particular diet, but it does take time.

  • Wow I love it.. that is an amazing article!  Thanks so much for sharing.

    • You absolutely can! Weston Price also recommends consuming bone broths to remineralise bones (and therefore teeth). Awesome article, thanks for sharing.
