Oh lovely, lovely meat. Lamb shanks waiting in the freezer for me to stew them up this weekend. My partner bought us some aged sirloin steaks from Better Butchers on Mt Eden Road (on the right as you head towards Mt Albert road end) - they were great - highly recommend their own bacon and ham too.

Also been buying meat packs straight from the farm - Lake Farm Beef in Cambridge: . They do a special cross bred which is bred for good eating and I have been impressed with the meat. Anything to avoid buying meat from the bloody (pun somewhat intended) supermarket.

My partner fishes from time to time and brings home the freshest fish of all. The only fish I've bought which comes close is from Food Direct:

Have begun to attempt to convince my partner his new hobby should be hunting but not sure he's taken the bait yet. Do you hunt? Whereabouts?

I know that myself and at least one other ooooby-ite are interested in eating organ meats and they can be hard to acquire at times, especially the more obscure ones. Am quite keen on getting my hands on some kidneys with the adrenal glands still attached, so let me know if you can help. Also some heart meat. Would be ideal if it came from game.

oh, yeah...a good place to start is the legalities of homekill and recreational catch-
I'd advise against trading product in this group and bringing oooby into disrepute but anything else goes and there are ways...

Well, gotta start somewhere...apologies to people who might find this group offensive but, hey, different strokes right guys? and not all of us are herbivores, although thats about 80-90% of my diet.
Fishing, beef, lamb, pork and into it! anyone else?
