Reading 'wild fermentation' by Sandor Ellix Katz, great book, and was wondering if there's already a group about fermented foods out there? Or could this fall under the Raw group? We've been experimenting recently with different rejuvelac's and wanted to hear about what your favourite method is?

This is one of their recipes I love, Raw Cashew Coconut Cream

Can't believe it's got no dairy? Once you start making custards and creams from nuts and coconut, you won’t feel as though you are missing out on creamy treats ever again. We don't generally consider our foods to be substitutes, but it’s a good way to start when you are eliminating foods from your diet, whether by necessity or choice.
This stuff is awesome, serve it with our apple cake recipe, use it as a filling for a tart, layer it with fruit and top with grawnola, or freeze it for a for a few hours and you've got ice cream.

1 cup cashews (soaked)
1 young coconut (meat only – drink the water or make keifer out of it, soooo good for you)
Blend until smooth (add a little filtered water or coconut water to get things moving if you need it, but keep it to a minimum)

2 Tbl spoons agave/maple syrup/a few drops of stevia (what ever your sweet-tooth preference is)
1/2 vanilla bean or ½ tsp of vanilla extract
2 Tbl spoons of coconut oil, melted
½ tsp lecithin (optional)

With the blender running pour in the remaining ingredients, blend until smooth.
Chill for 1-2 hours before serving.

a little bird told me....about raw organic goodness from 'little bird'! If you haven't tried their products already, then your missing out! The packaging alone gets 5 stars from me. I've attended an event where these guys catered - their raw cheeses rocked! I love to support those doing good, so here they are

I was in Wellington recently and stocked up at the local Organic Store with some of my favorite products from Loving Earth. Now they have an even larger range of all RAW deliciousness available and I can't get enough! Check this link out for some raw inspiration......

For those up north, or planning a weekend away up north- it's great to know you can get your green smoothies at the Matakana Farmers Markets- every Saturday morning. 8am- 12noon. Wouldn't it be AWESOME if other smoothie bars/ stalls were also promoting raw & green smoothies? Maybe some already are?

Hi everyone in Auckland or those who come to Auckland from time to time. There is a Raw Vegan group on Meetup that are meeting in Auckland monthly on the first Saturday evening of the month for a Raw Vegan Pot Luck...join meetup here to get to know about when and where etc. I leave on Tues July 27th to go an live on the 80/10/10 Raw Vegan Community on the Big Island of Hawaii.....probably be back in late Jan....look forward to postings till then...

Hello again,
I just wanted to yell out - Smiley I have finally, finally got our store up and running. It doesn't have anywhere near the products we are in the process of getting, but at least it is up now.... yay..
ECOLific is my store, and we have stainless steel drinking bottles, superfoods, mineral salt, with green powders, sprouting seeds, and many more superfoods on their way. Also ECO friendly cleaning products....
Boy, anybody else done this? It is a lot of work. I had no idea. Smiley

Hi Jo, big family and on Raw! amazing news and highly inspiring! we are also elated to know how wide spread this raw community is, and happy to encourage and nurture it's growth however we can. at the moment e run a monthly raw potluck- we'll, almost raw! I'll check out your site, and yes we have some recent press from a raw food workshop I can email you.

I just wanted to say hi. We're a raw food family of 7 soon to be 8. We live in Wairoa.
Our website (still in early stages at the mo) Would love articles from fellow raw foodies on my site, if you've got anything you want to say.
Just as a mention - I healed myself from psoriasis on raw food - not that this is news to any other raw foodies eh!
Stoked to find a community in NZ.
