"My choko is in a glass of water on my windowsill and has a long sprout with leaves. No roots I get these each year but when I plant it in a pot or plant it out they die. Would like advice please. Thanks"

"The new scoby will take 2 to 3 weeks to get thick enough to seperate. If scoby has been brewing for too many batches they go quite brown from the tannins from the tea."

We are sustainable gardeners with chickens, a Jersey milking cow about to calf, and 1 fresian cross year old calf that we are training to be another milking cow.I am passionate about growing Strawberries, multiplying leeks and Super foods like Jerusalem artichokes and Yacons, With fresh vegetables the whole year round, milk, and eggs, their is not much else that we need.
I am also passionate about all cultured foods and kefir grains, kombucha, caspian sea yoghurt. I love herbs and seed saving.

Rachael Pomeroy from the NZ Organic Magazine is doing a workshop on "The Biodynamic Calendar" With an Evening Star watch..  Follow the movement of the sun, moon, and planets from your own backyard, and use the rhythms in practical ways in your garden.   This Saturday. Hi Jane , am afraid possibly not a lot that you have not already got ... lemon balm mint (enough for drying, also the plants, and plants peppermint mint, garlic chive , thyme , lavendar, sage, - capsicum seed, holyhock seeds, and a couple of currents 1st year with roots and may have fruit on (pretty sure they are red, - was away last year and birds had them all- happy to pay something if you prefer, , will send you courier bag, kind regards, helen
