Far out brussel sprout, love your pics. Your chickens won't be able to dig up your raised gardens. I am chicken proofing my gardens now - I got them in December and need to fence off two more areas and then maybe they will leave the vegetables alone! I got two Brown Shavers from a place in Ora Place, Makaraka and an Australorp off the Internet. The Eastland Trader often has them advertised.

You guys look like you have been very busy! Any luck on the chooks yet? We have noticed all sorts of folks have scored chickens in our neighbourhood lately...even the posh people with that huge white house on the corner!

love your vege garden! i have a really big area for the chooks to roam in with trees, shelter, undergrowth to scratchin, etc. they also get out into the garden to scratch around for extra goodies. mind you, they wreck everything!

Hi Darryl - I have ppp'ss not pumpkins - sorry they wouldnt be any good I need to master the art of growing pumpkins the leaves have a milky residue Im thinking a disease and proving to be quite fickle about the surface the pumpkin is growing on ? Let me know if you give em a blast.... Any one know if you can eat the flowers and whether they're as good as courgette flowers or not ?

haha thanks - me too - the garden has been reduced for winter but we should have some broccoli in the next few weeks. Also have some seed potatoes and one big kamokamo if anyone wants it! :)
