Greetings Michelle
I have just jioned so its great to know that someone is sharing in Papakura once I sought myself out with this site I will be in touch.
happy new year!! do you want to come over for the 'food garden jaunt' on jan 25. i'm organising... the gardens are sounding like they will be pretty cool to visit. (I'm going to try and do it sans children if i can - maybe we could leave them all with mike!)
tis a bit tricky i guess. i have always felt slightly nervous about it, but generally go along with that philosophy of introducing 'dangerous' concepts/activities at a young age, teaching them clearly and carefully about it, and then keeping a close eye on them to make sure okay. in this context i have that mostly with flowers as i grow quite a few edible ones and have always encouraged them to eat them, but also have lots that aren't edible. alex i think now would always ask, melina i do watch. rhubarb does best in its own bed, could put right away from your wooden beds, and explain it would make them sick if they ate? you know best how the kids would react i guess :)
