Hello, I am looking after 43 acres of family (currently grazing) land in beautiful quiet Miranda. I am interested in starting to experiment with energy conservation and permaculture gardening. I would ultimately like to develop a food forest in the land surrounding the house, and then maybe expand the rest of the property in time into a space that could be a community resource for communicating these priniciples. I work with artists and so would like to work in an artist's residency and all kinds of creativity into the mix. I am a complete newbie at gardening though and so am very much starting from scratch there.

I have a few different accommodation options at the house, and so I would be very interested in having some lovely souls join me that might be interested in exchanging expertise and development help for cheap or free rent (though not utilities sorry). One of the buildings beyond the farmstead house is a very cute old wooden structure which makes a very sweet and sunny bedroom (or studio), and the other space is quite large and contains a bathroom and soon a simple kitchen.

Heres is info on the accommodation:

I am just in the middle of sorting these spaces out, though if anyone was keen and needed a place soon, getting a hand with moving a bit of furniture and clearing the way of stored family junk would also be very welcome! Some perks of the place are wireless broadband, lots of feijoas, sunny spaces and friendly neighbours (including an organic orchard and native nursery).

Well -- don't be shy to contact me :) Even if just to say hello. Short term or travelling garden warriors also welcome! There are quite a few accomodation options as I mentioned, so we could figure something out. Hot pools nearby if we really do get working on something!

Best,
// trudy

p.s. Anyone going to climate camp at Parihaka?

You could create a Yard Sharing group in your area and then add your comment there. That might help??
