Hey Gus,
I got stuck into the lollies this afternoon too. I'm not sure if we would get away with planting fruit trees on the tracks but I'm sure we could put in some strawberries and melons. I'm really looking forward to starting the garden, I think it will be heaps of fun. I'm pretty sure Georgia and Lou will love the idea and Sam and Jo would probably think it is pretty cool too. We will have to chat more about it next time we are working together.

Hi Gus,
Comfrey is a herb that is great for compost. It is high in nitrogen (17%) , phosphorus, potash, calcium and other trace minerals. I grow it next to my compost bin and break up and few leaves and chuck them in when I add stuff to the compost. It requires very little care and pretty much takes care of itself. It can be very hard to get rid of once established though so make sure you plant it somewhere you can live with it forever. Comfrey leaves can be slashed and make an excellent mulch and can also be used to make a liquid fertiliser.
Comfey is well known for it's excellent healing abilities and is used to treat bruises, wounds, cuts, scars, muscular aches and even fractures (although I must admit I haven't used it as a healing herb myself yet).
The best way to grow comfrey is by division and it will grow easily from even a small piece f root. I found that it stuggled when I tried to grow it in pots but has powered away since I put it directly into the ground. If you want some let me know and I'll pot some up for you.
